FRIENDSHIP MOTOR SPEEDWAY CONTINUES TO SEE BENEFITS OF ASA MEMBER TRACK PROGRAM

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.-- Randy Myers, promoter of Friendship Motor Speedway, is a supporter of the ASA Member Track program. He sees the benefits of the partnership, and understands the value that his track and racers receive is far more than he could obtain with another sanction or on his own as the operator of a short track.

“We have been part of the ASA Member Track program almost since the beginning,” Myers said. The 0.40-mile, tight D-shaped oval in Elkin, N.C., first opened as a dirt track in 1982. It operated as such for several years, and then was paved in 2003. The following year, Myers and his partners Danny Baker and Thomas Needham began their association with the ASA Member Track program.

“We’ve been with Dennis (Huth, president of the ASA Member Track program) and ASA for three years now and I hope that we will be with them for a very long time. The things that Dennis is able to do are something that we as individual track operators cannot do by ourselves. He is able to customize the ASA program for every track. Each one of us needs different things and he can do that for all the different tracks,” Myers explained.

As a Level I participant, Friendship Motor Speedway is entitled to marketing assistance, enhanced participant accident insurance, and contributions to their year-end point fund, an issue that Myers says is extremely popular with the competitors.

“The points fund contributions goes a long way for our guys,” Myers said. “We are able to help to put something back into their pockets and for nearly everyone racing at the short track level it helps to go a long way in keeping them on the track year after year.”

“The new TOPIC insurance program has also been great for Friendship and all the tracks under the ASA program, really. I am just tickled to death to have Dennis at the helm and are very satisfied with what is going on.”

The ASA insurance program, always noted for its excellent, has been further enhanced by the recently announced partnership with TOPIC Motorsports Insurance (TMI). ASA Member Track operators are able to purchase general and excess liability, automobile, an expanded ASA-exclusive $500,000 participant accident medical, workers compensation and health insurance directly from TMI.
