DUNCAN ‘STEALS THE SHOW’ AS 2007 SCHEDULE IS ANNOUNCEDSource: Vance Palm – MB Duncan Motor Sports
The ‘04/’05 west champ endured a challenging season in 2006 - finishing third in points and winning a big race at California Speedway – and now his racing passion is at an all-time high. “Having that success of back-to-back championships at MB Duncan Motor Sports makes our team work harder. We want that feeling again, and (Crew Chief) Bill Sedgwick and I are committed to bringing it back”, states Duncan. With regards to the ARCA commitment, Duncan explains, “We like running on bigger tracks, and the ARCA races do just that.” Duncan continues by saying,” I’ve always wanted to test our abilities against different groups of racers, and this decision is based on that desire to compete.” While looking ahead is natural in February, Duncan also had a few moments of reflection on 2006. The two, biggest moments of last year were big in very different ways. “Winning the Relocate Here 200 at the (California) Speedway was a tremendous achievement for our team, and it was a personal accomplishment that I had always hoped for,” said Duncan. He continued by saying, “That win will always be a stellar moment for us!” The second and very significant moment in the 2006 season came when the racing was over. At the season-ending GND west series awards banquet in Las Vegas, Duncan was chosen as the innaugural recipent of the “Spencer Clark Driven Award”. Presented in memory of the young driver who left the racing community far too young, Duncan was deeply moved, and when asked to comment, Duncan replied with utmost respect and sincerity by saying, ”Spencer was not only a future superstar in racing, but he was an equally bright, intelligent and well-raised young man . . . he will be sorely missed.” Mike Duncan will also be hitting the marketing trail hard this year, and he started by starring in the Central Valley Sportsmen, Boat & RV Show, the premier outdoorsman show in California. Record-breaking crowds of outdoor enthusiasts flooded the Kern County fairgrounds last weekend in Bakersfield, and MB Duncan Motor Sports was a featured attraction. Racing fans from the western states had a chance to meet Mike, have a photo taken in front of his race cars and conduct “Fan interviews” with RealFast.TV. The RV show’s owner and production team credited Duncan’s presence with, “ . . . attracting more people than ever to the show’s center stage.” Greenfrogroastingco.com was also on hand to give out coffee/bean samples and promote their involvement with MB Duncan Motor Sports. Scott Hair, President of Green Frog Markets, stated his feelings about Mike simply by saying, “Everything we’ve done with Mike has increased our business exponentially, and we are looking forward to a very successful 2007 with Mike!” Anybody that knows Mike Duncan knows he’s working hard to achieve just that – a very successful 2007.
