OAKLAND RAIDERS’ BRAYTON CLAIMS WIN ON INFINEON RACEWAY DRAG STRIP

SONOMA, Calif. -- Tyler Brayton, a defensive end for the Oakland Raiders, took home his first win of the season on Monday at Infineon Raceway during the Presidents’ Day Bracket Drags.

Brayton, a regular competitor on the world-famous quarter-mile drag strip, drove his 1964 Chevelle to the Sportsman-class final round of the Summit ET Racing Series Bracket Drags. Brayton defeated Rodeo’s John Terry in the finals when Terry fouled at the starting line.

This marked the second of eight events scheduled for Infineon Raceway this season as more than 300 competitors battled on the quarter-mile drag strip in six different classes.

Northern California competitors swept the day, winning in each division. Napa’s Ken Briggs (Pro ET) beat Madera’s James Kirkman, while Napa’s Robert Diehl edged Santa Rosa’s Mike McClure for the Trophy class victory.

In the Motorcycle class, Rohnert Park’s Steve Starr out-ran Healdsburg rider Jon Nelson, while Rohnert Park’s Daniel McClellan secured the win over Sebastopol’s Nick Kelley in the High School final. Martinez’s John Anselmo also took home a win in the elite Super Pro class.

The next Summit ET Bracket Drags event at Infineon Raceway is scheduled for April 7. This will mark the third of eight Summit ET Series points events. For more information, call 800-870-RACE ext. 209 or visit www.infineonraceway.com.####
