Concord, NC -- Brian Tyler returns to The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the first time in a decade to compete in this Thursday and Friday night’s USAC/CRA Las Vegas Dirt Classic.

“I ran one of the first races at The Dirt Track when the Silver Crown cars were here in 1997,” said Tyler, who will be driving the No. 11 USAC/CRA Sprint Car for Nline Apparel (nlineapparel.com) and Patricia Diane Vineyards. “I’ve had pretty good luck out in Las Vegas. I’m looking forward to driving for car owners Anne and Billy Wilkerson this weekend.”

Tyler is no stranger to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In addition to competing in the USAC Silver Crown Series at The Dirt Track, the Parma, MI native has raced in the NASCAR Busch Series, and Indy Racing League at LVMS.

“I had my best finish (6th) in an Indy Car here with Dale Pelfrey back in 1998, and my first NASCAR Busch Series start was here with Jay Robinson in 2001,” said Tyler, who now lives in North Carolina.

This will be Tyler’s second trip to the West Coast this year. Tyler finished 8th in the USAC Silver Crown Series season opener at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix last month.

Additionally, the runner up in the 2006 USAC Silver Crown points chase has been on a busy testing schedule with his Team 6R Silver Crown car.

“We tested at Homestead, FL and Darlington, SC back-to-back last week,” said Tyler. “Darlington was a blast. You can see why they call it a driver’s track.”

“I earned my first ‘Darlington Stripe’ when I caught the wall coming off of turn four. I’m looking forward to racing their next month. I think the Silver Crown cars will put on a great show for the fans,” added Tyler.

Tyler, who now resides just outside of Charlotte in Mt. Pleasant, NC, is still discussions regarding a potential NASCAR program.

“We’re running the full Silver Crown Series and some additional Sprint Car races for 2007,” said Tyler, who has nine NASCAR Busch Series starts. “And we’ve been in discussions with a new team regarding a selected schedule for this year. Running at tracks like Las Vegas, Homestead, and Darlington helps to keep those conversations going. Hopefully, we can announce what those plans will be in the near future.”####
