The Western States Super Modifieds, in cooperation with Madera Speedway, announced their return to Madera this coming April 28th to compete in the annual Vukovich Classic.
According to Rick Cameron, the President of the Western States Super Modifieds, the Vukovich Classic is one of the most exciting races of the year for these winged monsters. "Our teams look forward all year for this race. To say you won the Vuky, is a major accomplishment in anyone's racing career. Last year we had a battle right down to the last lap between Jeff Russell, Jim Birges and Troy Regier. This year, these teams have stepped up their programs with even more horsepower. This year not one of these guys will give an inch - it's is going to be one out of control race"
The Western States Super Modifieds are the fastest cars to race at Madera Speedway. Capable of producing over 850 horsepower and weighting 1900 lbs, these cars will easily turn 12 second lap times. Over size wings creating unbelievable downforce are the secret in keeping these cars glued to the track.
The under card includes the BCRA midgets, 360 Super Modifieds, the NASCAR Whelen all American Series Western Late Models and the American Limited Stock Cars.
Kenny Shepherd adds, "I'm so excited to have the opportunity to host the Vukovich Classic. The quality and class the Vukovich name represents is a great honor to be affiliated with, and the line up we have for this event is sure to produce one of the greatest events of the 2007 season".
The fans should be prepared to come early to get the best seats since this show promises to sell out.
