2007 BARNETT HARLEY-DAVIDSON TOURING SERIES KICKS OFF AT CANYON RACEWAY

The 2007 Barnett Harley-Davidson Touring Series, sponsored by MSD Ignitions, Flexi Flyer Motorsports, GAT Racing, Marsh Racing Wheels and Premiere Signs & Graphics, is set to kick off at Canyon Raceway on March 16 and 17th. New co-owners, Jim Bonde and Andy Critser have been making improvements to the Canyon Raceway Facility and are ready for the traveling show to come to town. The tour series has been shortened to eight races at five tracks on exclusive dates.

Each race night is a separate points race, paying $1000 to win and $100 to start; non-transfers will be paid $50. Racers from all over the southwest are expected to participate including 8 of the 9 Barnett Harley-Davidson champions of 2006. Defending Tour Series Champion and Southern New Mexico Speedway Champion Scott Logston of Las Cruces, NM will run the entire 2007 series and will be joined by Barnett National Champion Christy Georges of El Paso, TX. Also coming in are El Paso Speedway Park champion Jimmy Ray from Las cruces; Thunder Raceway Champion Paul Banghart from Tucson, AZ; Central Arizona Raceway's Mark Harrison from Coolidge, AZ. The locals will provide plenty of Talent with Canyon's Track Champion and Rookie of the Year in 2006, Tony Steele and Manzanita's Track Champion, Jason Noll. Also expected to attend are 2006 tour regulars Anthony Madrid, Gene Parvin, James Patout, and Clint Fouts. Northern New Mexico will be represented by Porter Smith of Aztec and California will have Lance and Aron Mari in attendance.

For 2007 the Border Racing Association allows the American Racer KK704 or the Hoosier IMCA tire. At touring events the first night heat line ups are a pill draw. First night finish order will be inverted for second night heat line up. Gates open both days at 5 P.M. with racing at 7:30 P.M. Friday and 7:00 P.M. Saturday.####
