JACE MEIER NARROWLY MISSES WINNING GRAND PRIZE IN THE FORZA MOTORSPORT SHOWDOWN

Las Vegas, NV -- Vegas race car driver Jace Meier qualified first to determine the starting line up for the “Final Race” of the Forza Motorsport Showdown yesterday evening. Meier had a commanding lead after the first three episodes of the live-action four-part mini-series, being aired on SPEED, the automotive lifestyle and motor sports network.

In last night’s episode, the team went to a private dinner in the presidential wine cellar of the Château Élan Winery & Resort. On the final day of racing, the teams went to the drag strip and Meier finished second. The last race was at Road Atlanta where Meier qualified first, but the producers decided to invert the field so he was last to start. In less than two laps, Meier passed every car and took the lead. However, on the third lap, the thermostat went out and the car overheated and he had to limp to the finish line. With such a commanding lead going into the final race, Meier still had a chance, but Angela Cope managed to pass another competitor which gave her just enough points to win

“I had been in the lead at the end of each race day and knew I could catch up at Road Atlanta, even with being last in the inverted field,” said Meier. “I couldn’t believe the car gave out on me at the end, but the entire show was am amazing experience and I’m a better driver because of it.”

Meier is now focusing on the new season at hand, entering his fifth year of competitive racing on March 24th in the Late Model Division at Irwindale Speedway.

Meier was named “Rookie of the Year” in the NASCAR Late Model division at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this season. In addition, he ran with USAC as part of the California Ford Focus Midget Pavement series, winning three races and four poles in the past two seasons.

Meier is an 18 year old Las Vegas native and according to people that have seen him race, has a bright future ahead of him. When he isn’t racing, Meier is an honor student at Spring Valley High School and a very active member in his school and the community, in addition to serving as a motivational speaker.
