NEW SEASON, BIG CHANGES FOR ROCKY MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE SERIES

BOISE, IDAHO -- The ESI Rocky Mountain Challenge Series (RMCS) enters its fourth year of competition as the premiere Late Model touring series in the Intermountain West with an exciting nine race schedule. The RMCS will kick off the season at Magic Valley Speedway (MVS) in Twin Falls, Idaho Saturday, April 21 followed by eight other point races.

Engineered Structures Inc. (ESI) has moved to title sponsor of the series after three years as an associate sponsor and will also have title sponsorship of the June 30 ESI "100" at MVS.

"We are excited to increase our involvement with the series," stated Tom Hill, president of ESI. "We have some fun things planned not only for the drivers but for our employees and customers this season. It is going to be a great season."

New this season will be several extended distance races at MVS including the Pepsi "125" on June 9 along with the ESI "100" June 30 and the Platt Electric "200" August 4 that will feature a segment race that is sure to be exciting for the drivers and fans alike.

Capping the season for the third straight year will be the traditional season ending NAPA "150" on a new date Saturday, September 8. In total, five races will be staged at the exciting third-mile asphalt oval that is has seen some significant changes during the off-season. Some of those changes include a new pit entrance, new concrete pads, a new pit tech pad, new sound system, along with new faces on both sides of the fence.

Joining Steve York at Magic Valley Speedway this season will be Eddy McKean who hangs up his helmet from full-time racing and will enter the track operation and promotion arena. "The ESI Rocky Mountain Challenge Series always puts on a good show for the fans and we are excited to have them headlining five events this year," said McKean.

The series will also return to the ultra-fast 3/8-mile oval of Rocky Mountain Raceway (RMR) outside Salt Lake City, Utah four times in 2007. The first stop will be a 75-lap event on May 5 with a return trip later in the month for the annual Monday Memorial Day 100 lap race.

The RMCS will make two other stops at RMR on July 14 and again on August 25 for the always exciting NAPA "125".

David Minegar of Nampa, Idaho will defend his 2006 series title and will campaign a new Port City chassis this season. "I can't wait for the first event," Minegar said. 'It always seems winter is too long. It will be great to get back to racing and catching up with all the guys. I think we have a great chance to repeat, but it is definitely going to be tough with Zan (Sharp) coming back, Jim Eaton, John Newhouse, and Bruce Quale all capable of winning each night."
