George Ruark, 44, is still looking forward to a good season despite having a less-than-perfect day Saturday at Irwindale Speedway.
Ruark, driver of the #19 AC Delco Super Late Model for Ruark Racing, finished the night early with an untimely crash in the race.
Ruark’s day started with poor luck. In qualifying, the engine started smoking as oil was spilling from the right side valve cover. He qualified 25, but was still looking forward to the first race of the season.
Unfortunately for him though, he wrecked his car beyond immediate repair early in the race.
“It’s too bad,” Ruark said. “I was excited about being on the track, but it’s a minor setback. We’ll be back!”
Ruark will be racing the Gee Whiz, Performance Utility Supply Super Late April 7.
“We’re looking forward to being back in April,” said fellow Ruark Racing Driver Jimmy Sloan.
