Trinity, N.C. - Justin Labonte, a former NASCAR Busch Series winner, is back behind the wheel this weekend. Labonte will be competing in the Allstate Texas Thunder 150 Saturday at the .375-mile Thunderhill Raceway located in Kyle, Texas. Part of the NASCAR Grand National West Series, Labonte will be driving the Mainstreet Homes Chevrolet for Midgley Motorsports. Maintsreet Homes is central Texas’ largest locally owned homebuilder.

“I’ve been looking at opportunities as they come up. This weekend is a great opportunity to race in the Grand National West Series. The competition is tough and Midgley Motorsports has out together a good deal for me. I know we have the proper backing with Mainstreet Homes. I’m really looking forward to getting more seat time,” said Labonte.

Justin’s father, Terry Labonte, will also be participating in the weekend’s festivities. He will be the Grand Marshal of the 150-lap event. He will also drive the pace car for the start of the race.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Justin race at a short track in Texas,” said Terry. “It’s how I got my start in racing. Seeing Justin compete in my home state is pretty cool.”

Justin Labonte participates in this weekend’s event as he continues to search for opportunities in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck and NASCAR Busch Series.####
