
PHOENIX, Arizona -- Toyota of Escondido sponsored driver Andrew Myers of the NASCAR Grand National West Series, returns to Phoenix International Speedway to defend his 2006 title on April 19, 2007. Additional sponsorship by NEO Synthetic Oil for the 2007 race year, Myers and his crew have completed testing and are determined and prepared to return to the track and retain the title for 2007. Car owner Nancy Myers will be in attendance to watch the defending champ Chevy Monte Carlo to pursue its second Phoenix win in a row.
“I am very enthusiastic about working with a whole new group of guys this year that are dedicated & motivated to win the championship,” said Myers. Returning Jamie Aube and new crew chief Ben Walker are included on Andrew’s new team. Walker says; “I am excited to return with the defending champion this year, also excited to be included on this team in pursuing the championship.”
This 1 mile short course lap of the Phoenix International Speedway, was created with 2 turns of 11 degree angles and 2 turns of 9 degree angles. Since Myers as a returning driver has confidence and has an optimistic outlook about his chances.
Born and raised in Newport Beach, Myers has been involved in the racing game his entire life. After securing two world titles in Jet Ski Racing in the late 1990’s, Myers tried his hand in Off-Road Racing also brought home many prestigious wins. Currently in 2007 Myers is pursuing a championship in the Grand National West Series and has accomplished several titles in the very competitive NASCAR series.
