MONROE, Washington -- Evergreen Speedway has always had an ambitious racing program. Billed as the "Biggest Track, Best Drivers" in 2007, it has always been a "rain or shine" racetrack as well. Last Saturday was no exception to the "rain or shine" program. Throw in a wicked hailstorm, and you've got some of the best racing around! Saturday night April 14 left the crowd thoroughly entertained and happy to have seen the hard charging all weather racers at Evergreen. Tucked under the covered grandstands the crowd responded many times enthusiastically to the close competition. In particular the Stinger Eights and Mini Stocks, well you might as well throw in the Les Schwab Tires Bombers too, really wowed the fans. Both the second and third tier NASCAR Whelen All American Series cars earned valuable points toward their respective class/track championships. Although the Speedway Chevrolet Super Stocks waited out the weather watching the other classes having all the fun, they watched as wiper motors and wiper blades alike were being repaired all race day. Defending Mini Stock Champion Mark Weedin makes light of his wet day in his blog at evergreenspeedway.com.

This Saturday April 21 the fun continues with the Speedway Chevrolet Super Stocks, Les Schwab Tires Bombers, Mini Stocks, Stinger Eights, Super Figure Eights and Hornets. Kelly Mann returns in the Premiere NASCAR Whelen All American Series Super Stocks as the point's leader, with Roger Habich, John Zaretzke and Shane Harding following close behind. Racing in 2007 for well over $120,000 in point, contingency and prize money as well as the much coveted NASCAR Track Championship, competitors will also be racing this season for the First ever NASCAR Washington State Championship. The eventual Track champion will wear dual championships in 2007!

Defending Bomber Champion Duane Shosboek continues his winning ways as point's leader coming into this Saturday and Chuck Richard leads the Mini Stocks. Cody Koroshes with his slim win over Mike Middleton leads the Stinger Eights and Brian Gunderson established himself as the favorite in the Super Figure Eight division.

Back Gates open at 12:30pm, Front Gates open at 3:30pm, with Racing at 7pm.####
