Hernando, MS (4/24/06) Reed Motorsports and driver, Brad Bowden competed in a pair of ASCS Sprint Car events over the weekend, and the team opened a lot of eyes with their performances.

On Friday night, the team ventured to Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg, Mississippi for the ASCS Coastal Region event. This marked the first time that Brad Bowden visited the facility, but he was able to adapt quickly. Bowden started 8th in his heat race and finished 5th. This landed Brad with a 14th place starting position for the feature event, but he wouldn’t stay there long. As soon as the green flag dropped, Bowden began his march to the front, which culminated with a 4th place finish at the checkered flag.

On Saturday night, the team once again ventured into unfamiliar territory as they made their first ever appearance at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi for an ASCS National Tour event. In the heat race, Bowden started fifth and charged to a second place finish by Gary Wright. In the dash, Bowden would start fourth and once again bolt to a second place finish behind Wright. Bowden’s second place finish earned him an outside front row starting position for the feature event. Bowden would run third for most of the feature, before ultimately finishing 6th.

In regards to the weekend’s results, Reed Motorsports owner, Scotty Reed said “2006 was such a trying year for us, and for the team to come out of the box so strong in 2007 is really the shot in the arm that we needed. I think that our first feature win is right around the corner.”

This weekend, Reed Motorsports will head to I-30 Speedway for an ASCS National Tour event. For more information, please visit www.I-30Speedway.com .
