KANSAS CITY, KS Following a career weekend at Salem Speedway, Dexter Bean strolls into Kansas Speedway looking to keep the hype alive as the ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) controls Kansas Speedway Friday with the running of the Kansas Lottery $150 Grand.

Bean heads into the fifth event of the 2007 ARS season sitting a career-best fourth in the point standings and eyes moving up the ladder with another stunning performance Friday afternoon.

“We are pumped for this week,” said Bean, a native of Westby, Wisconsin. “We had an absolutely terrific race at Salem. Everything went perfect. We wished we could have collected the victory, but second is nothing for this team to complain about.”

“Luck has been on our side for the most part this season. Last year we were flooded with some bad luck, but things are looking bright for our BlackJack Racing team and I can’t wait to get racing again.”

BlackJack Racing is bringing one of their most precious pieces to Kansas Speedway. The team will unload the car that has produced strong and thrilling results for the family-owned team. The car has two fourth place finishes at Pocono Raceway and Chicagoland Speedway and most recently a strong ninth place at Nashville Superspeedway earlier this month.

“This is one of my favorite cars,” Bean added. “We have great cars in the BlackJack Racing stable. We don’t have many, but what we do have is strong and competitive. We had a great run going here last season before we ran into some mechanical hiccups during the race. We were able to finish the race, but we don’t want to have those incidents reoccur this Friday, so we’ve checked everything twice to be sure we can back up our performance from Salem.”

While BlackJack Racing is still searching for additional sponsorship of Bean’s No. 6 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, the team is glad to have local longtime supporter Five Star Telecom onboard this weekend as an associate sponsor.

Since their beginning in 1973, FST (Five Star Telecom), a long-time supporter of Bean’s racing career has become one of the largest interconnect companies in the Upper Midwest, with multiple locations serving the tri-state area.

Rolling into Kansas, the former AutoZone Elite division competitor has 31 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts to his credit with three-top fives finishes and nine top-10 efforts. He holds a career best finish of second at Salem Speedway (April 2007). He owns the 2006 Pork pole award at Salem Speedway (September) while hoisting a career-best superspeedway time trials effort of fourth at Pocono Raceway (June 2006). Bean also has controlled the ARCA field for 114 laps in four races.

BlackJack Racing is still seeking additional primary and associate sponsors for the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series season. For sponsorship inquiries, please contact Robert Weiss at rweiss9@wi.rr.com or 414.763.9231.

The Kansas Lottery $150 Grand (100 laps/150 miles) is the fifth of 23 events on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The event serves as a one day show. Practice begins Friday, April 27 with a two hour and twenty minute (8:30am-10:50am Local Time) session planned. The SIM Factory qualifying session is slated for early in the afternoon at 12:45pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag shortly after 4:00pm Local Time with live coverage on SPEED. Additional race coverage can be found online at arcaracing.com
