Jeff Davis of Orange California will return to competition at Irwindale Speedway this Saturday, driving the #66 Team RA Racing Chevy. Davis will be re-united with his former NASCAR Grand National West Series crew chief Tim McMillan for the evening as he races the truck as a final shakedown for the team that will be competing at Irwindale regularly in the near future with soon-to-be-16 year old driver Albert Flores. Flores will compete in the Legends event the same night.
Davis states “I have high hopes for the weekend. We tested here a few weeks ago and found the speeds that should make us very competitive with some 20 flats. I’m looking forward to this more than ever. I feel like Tim and I can communicate well enough to qualify and race really fast! I feel really fortunate that the team is putting me in the truck for this and I hope to reward them with a good finish. We’re all optimists here – maybe we can challenge for the win!”
Davis is a veteran of over 50 NASCAR Grand National West Series starts, dating back to 1992 and has competed in several Winston Cup events throughout the 90’s. His best season in the West Series came in his rookie year when he finished 4th overall.
He also competed in the ASA Speedtruck series for two years, finishing 5th in the championship standings in 2000 and 2nd in 2001.![]()
