Bob Lyon held off three determined challengers to win the Food 4 Less MDA 100 Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring race at Madera Speedway Saturday night.
Lyon of Agua Dulce, Calif., finished just .2 of a second ahead of Eric Holmes of Escalon, Calif. Nathan Tucker of Sonora, Calif., was third; M.K. Kanke of Frasier Park, Calif., was fourth; and Jeff McCoun of Prunedale, Calif., was fifth.
"I don't know who was under me," Lyon said of the final, frantic laps around the 1/3-mile Madera oval. "I thought it was Kanke. All I could see was a white hood out of the corner of my eye."
Finishing sixth through 10th were series point leader Matt Crafton, Todd Souza, Bob McCoun, Greg Pursley and Scott Lynch.
It was the fourth victory of Lyon's career. He won $4,875.
