WILLIAMS AND FELISH WIN FEATURES; KERR WINS TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP

Jeff Williams led the entire 50 lap West Coast Pro Truck lap main event to claim his thrid feature win of the season in the series. Jim Satterfield finished second and Mike Kelperis third.

Gary Felish took advantage of a night off in his Late Model to drive the Jim Carlo owned Pure Street Stock to victory in the 75 lap Pure Street Stock Championship race. The Pure Street Stocks had their largest field of the season as the track management increased the purse for season ending race.

Ryan Kerr, who finished third, claimed the track championship. Kerr claimed the Pure Street Stock Championship at I-10 Speedway in Blythe, CA two weeks earlier. The double feat runs in the family as his father, Richard Kerr, accomplished the same double championships 10 years earlier. “It’s something that’s been on my mind to do since my dad did it 10 years ago. It’s a feeling I can’t explain,” said Ryan, who lives in Cibola AZ. “I remember going to Havasu every weekend and to Blythe. They raced in the summer then. To do what he did, to me, my dad is my hero and it means a lot.”

Pure Street Stock Track Championship positions 2nd through 5th were Chip Campbell, Rick Layman, Andy Campbell and Duane Dillard, respectively.

This Saturday night Havasu 95 Speedway will feature a special event that includes a Monster Trucks, demolition derby and the Factory Stocks.

In two weeks (May 18th and May 19th) Havasu 95 Speedway will conclude its inaugural season with the Late Model, Modified and Factory Stock Championships. The modified race is also Race #2 of the Lucas Oil ASA Modified Series. For more information please visit www.havasu95speedway.com
