MADERA PACK HEADS TOWARDS THE BONUS MONEYThe Pepsi/Save Mart Road to the Chase at the Madera Speedway is four races into the ten race series for the Western Late Models. The Road to the Chase began on March 31st and consists of the first ten events of the season, the Road to the Chase will conclude on July 21st. The Chase to the Championship will consist of the final six events beginning on the 28th of July and ending on the championship night of the 29th of September. Points are paid out in an ascending order, or a bottom up order beginning with 2 points for the last place car and increasing two points per position. Example, if there are 25 cars on a given event then first place would receive 50 points, second would get 48 and so on. Points will also be awarded for qualifying, heat races and trophy dashes. At the conclusion of the tenth race, bonus checks will be paid out and the field will be reset for the "Chase to the Championship". The bonus checks will be paid to the top ten drivers in the points, with the point leader receiving $1,000.00, 2nd place $500.00, 3rd place $300.00, 4th place $200.00, 5th place $150.00 and 6th through 10th will receive a bonus of $100.00 each at the conclusion of the 10th race. The points will be reset after the first ten races, but, each team will keep their qualifying, heat race and trophy dash points from the first ten events. The top 20 teams in the points will be eligible for the "Chase for the Championship". The "Chase to the Championship" is the final six events that will decide the Madera Speedway Track Champion in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Feature Division. Sitting just outside the top twenty are Tim Spurgeon, Del McIntosh, Carlos Vieira, Doug Rocha, Tanner Swanson, Brian Liles, Dallas Glen, Glen Cook, Brandon Trevethen and Bret Hughes.

Of the remaining twelve events for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Western Late Models, six of them are $2,000 to win 100 lap events, three are $1,500 to win 75 lap events and three are $1,000 to win 50 lap events.####
