MELO MOTORSPORTS AND TOYOTA OF DES MOINES TEAM UP FOR IOWA SPEEDWAY NASCAR GRAND NATIONAL DIVISION RACEREDDING, California – Melo Motorsports will travel to Newton, Iowa, for the Inaugural NASCAR-sanctioned race at the new Iowa Speedway on Sunday, May 20th, with Toyota of Des Moines coming on board as the primary sponsor of the No. 59 Toyota Camry driven by Kyle Cattanach.

The announcement was made today by Melo Motorsports Owner Marty Melo and Toyota of Des Moines General Manager Steve Luebke.

The NASCAR Grand National Division race will feature teams from the division’s West Series and Busch East Series meeting head-to-head in the Featherlite Coaches 200 on the 7/8-mile paved tri-oval. Iowa Speedway was designed by Andy Vertrees, the track’s chief operating officer, and former NASCAR Champion Rusty Wallace.

“We welcome our new partner Toyota of Des Moines as the primary sponsor for our Toyota Camry in what will be a great event for the entire state of Iowa,” said Melo. “With the only Toyota currently competing in the series, we are proud to bring our team to Iowa Speedway and represent the West Series in this event. The competition will be outstanding, and it should be a great show for the fans.”

Toyota of Des Moines, located approximately 40 miles from Iowa Speedway, will conduct a promotion in advance of the race on Thursday, May 17th at the dealership, featuring the No. 59 Toyota of Des Moines Camry on display and Cattanach signing autographs for fans from 3:00-6:00 p.m. CDT.

“We are very excited that Toyota has joined NASCAR and very honored to sponsor Kyle Cattanach driving a Toyota Camry in the Inaugural NASCAR-sanctioned race at Iowa Speedway in Newton,” Luebke said. “We hope this is the beginning of a long-term relationship. Best of luck to Kyle, Melo Motorsports and Toyota in their racing season and ‘thank you’ for the great opportunity to sponsor and be part of, not only your racing team, but your racing family.”

The Iowa Speedway race, which will be televised live on HDNet and replayed on SPEED, will be the second NASCAR Grand National race for the team and Cattanach. In his series debut two weeks ago at Altamont Motorsports Park, Cattanach finished 14th, overcoming two cut tires during the race.

Associate sponsors for Melo Motorsports include: Essayons, Inc., Pepper Jack Kennels, Dan Gamel RV, Hawaiian Scene, Gerlinger Steel, Major Alarm, JW Web Design, PRAXAIR, Ringers Gloves and POWERade.
