MYERS GEARS UP FOR EAST MEETS WEST SERIES SHOWDOWNS

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California --The night of April 28th, Toyota of Escondido/Neo Synthetic Oil sponsored driver Andrew Myers raced the NASCAR Altamont 200. With high hopes of achieving another career win, Myers qualified 14th on the tricky surface. Start your engines was announced around 7 PM and they were off. From deep in the pack Myers worked his way up to 4th place in the final laps, closing in on the lead cars, the 1st and 2nd place cars crashed Myers and Mike David found themselves going for the win. At the checkered flag, Myers crossed the line in second place. Myers said: “It was an awesome race, the competition was tough, but I look forward to returning to the track at the end of the season.”

Myers Racing returned from Altamont to begin prepping for the twin races at Elko Speedway followed by Iowa Speedway. This weekend the NASCAR Grand National Series showdown between the East and West series begins Friday night May 18th. Crew Chief Ben Walker said: “We are continuously working on the car to reach its full potential. Our crew is working hard to get the car turned around for the next race so that Andrew (Myers) can continue to pursue the championship.” The first race of the combined weekend will be at Elko Speedway in Dacano, Minnesota on Friday night. Then the Team heads to Newton, Iowa to take on the Rusty Wallace designed Iowa Speedway on Sunday Afternoon.

“I am intrigued with this weekends races and being able to race against the NASCAR East teams again” said Myers. “With two races back to back, it will keep us on our toes, as well as keep the fans on the edge of their seats.” Myers got a sneak peak at both tracks when he traveled to them last week as part of NASCAR’s pre race media campaign. Myers was interviewed by several local television and radio stations.

Watch Myers (#14) at Elko Speedway on Friday May 18th at 9:00 PM and Iowa Speedway on Sunday May 20th at 3:00 PM. Watch it Live on HDnet or at www.racingwest.com Near Live.####
