EVERGREEN SPEEDWAY RESULTS & STORY

Evergreen Speedway hosted what some might call "second generation night" Saturday. Nick Williams stood atop victory stage after a thrilling Hornet main that used Evergreens famous "road course". With a field of yellow and black hornets in tow he took the lead late in the main event for his first victory of the season.

Meanwhile the Les Schwab Tires Bombers thrilled the crowd with their usual side-by-side racing action. Piling up points in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series, Lane Sundholm registered victory number two on the season. The premiere NASCAR Whelen All American Series Speedway Chevrolet Super Stocks once again showed the fans that Evergreen can truly boast "Biggest Track, Best Drivers". Naima Lang led the pack of 16 late models and finally on a restart yielded to John Zaretzke. Lang battled back but lap traffic and a late caution that bunched the field was too much to overcome as Zaretzke won his fourth main event of the season. The "Ed Ritchie Memorial 60 Minutes of FEAR" event was absolutely packed with close calls and intersection collisions. When the dust settled, the first ever 60 Minutes winner, Ricky "The Kid" Dietz celebrated and acknowledged that he knew at the end that he had lapped the entire field of cars.
