NO LUCK FOR MOSES SMITH IN THE MIDWEST

ANTELOPE, California -- Moses Smith and the #18 HASA Pool Products team from Bill McAnally Racing had a rough weekend as they made a run for it as the NASCAR Grand National Division Busch East Series faced off with the West Series. The first of the two events of the weekend was the Minnesota “150” at Elko Speedway. Forty-six racers ran hard for the thirty spots on the grid. Smith was 13th quick and made the show. Sixteen cars were sent home. Smith and the #18 HASA team’s night ended early when at lap 50, Smith got collected in a turn-two wreck that happened in front of him. Smith hit the back wall hard but the damage was too severe to reenter the race. Smith gained nine spots in the chase for the West Series Championship.

The second event was at Iowa Speedway. With more than fifty drivers vying for the 43 spots, qualifying was tough. Former series champion and Nextel Cup driver Kevin Harvick would win the Bud Pole Award. Smith would miss the race by only .07 seconds. He would lose two spots in the chase for the West Series championship. Smith is currently in 14th.

The team is returning to Colorado National Speedway on June 2nd for the NAPA “150”. The race will be televised live on HDNet.
