
Vista Paint Super Stocks
Bryan Harrell of Riverside took the lead on the 7th lap and cruised to his fourth consecutive Vista Paint Super Stock race of the season Saturday night (May 26) at Irwindale Speedway. Greg Crutcher of Covina finished second and Darren Cheek of San Bernardino finished third. Cheek has finished third or better in four consecutive races this season. Of the twenty cars that competed in the race, nine cars finished on the lead lap in the 35-lap race.
Justice Brothers Mini Stocks
Brain Johnson of Covina edged out division leader Tyler Rogers of Riverside in a spirited battle to win Saturday night’s (May 26) Justice Brothers Mini Stock race at Irwindale Speedway. Rogers second place finish ended a two-race win streak. Rich Garver of Torrance finished third. Twenty-five cars competed in the 35-lap race with 15 cars finishing on the lead lap.
ACDelco Super Late Models
Rip Michels of San Fernando jumped to the lead on the first lap passing pole setter Travis Thirkettle of Newhall and went on to score an impressive flag-to-flag victory in the 75-lap ACDelco Super Late Model feature race Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway. Michels, the Speedway’s winningest driver with 48 career victories, also notched his fourth consecutive win of the season. Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills finished second with Thirkettle finishing third. Twenty-three cars competed in the race with 14 finishing on the lead lap.
Demolition Derby
Bret Blawa of Upland outlasted a six-car field to win Saturday night’s Demolition Derby at Irwindale Speedway. Chico Powell of South Pasadena finished second and Mike Atkinson of Upland finished third.![]()
