YAKIMA, Washington -- Mike Zamora, from Kennewick Washington, has chosen to run a limited late model schedule in 2007. Zamora, a past champion, piloted his beautiful green and black Monte Carlo to a popular win Saturday night at Yakima speedway. Due to a advantageous draw, the veteran started on the front row and lead every lap of the 60 lap feature. The small but highly competitive field was ringht on his rear bumper the entire event. Defending champion, Christopher Kalsch, Hillsboro, Oregon and Duke Langley, also from Oregon, battled hard until the final lap when slight contact between the two caused both cars to spin. Hard luck racer, Ron Bemis, scored his first finish of the year in second and rookie rich Peters was third. Lon Werremeyer finished fourth and Langley recovered for the fifth position.

The super Stock event was equally exciting. Tony Huffines scored the win by clean hard driving in holding of Buck Noel Jr. and young Brian Pepper for the victory in the 30 lap event.

Reece Kastle beat Jessie eaton in the Hornet dividsion and Tyson Richter took the top honors in the Bump To Pass.

The next event is set for Saturday, June 9th with the Outlaw Stock Car Association, with over 25 cars pre-entered, from all over the Northwest. Also on the card will be the popular H & H Furniture Hobby Stocks. Mel Patnode will be trying for two in a row in the highly competitive class. Also appearing will be the Hornets and the Bump To Pass classes.

Gates open at 4:00 with time trials at 5:00 and racing to follow.####
