HISTORY WILL BE MADE AT STATELINE SPEEDWAYYAKIMA, Washington -- This Saturday June 9, 2007 there will be a change of the history at Northern Idaho’s Stateline Stadium / Speedway. It only took 20-years for the ASA Northwest Tour to return to the Post Falls, Idaho 1/4-mile banked oval. The last time a traveling series of this magnitude visited this beautiful part of the country was in 1987.

The ASA Aero Exhaust Northwest Tour rolls into town with many of the Northwest’s top stock car drivers ready to tackle the high speed oval. Three of the present tour racers were with the 1987 edition of the Northwest Tour. All three are former tour champions. A record four have been garnered by Garrett Evans, East Wenatchee, Wash, three by Ron Eaton, Spanaway, Wash and one went to Kelly Tanner, Auburn, Wash. These three tour veterans are looking forward to returning to Stateline and its newer configuration.

Many of the other 2007 ASANWT drivers have not been to and or driven a tour car at Stateline Stadium/Speedway in their respective racing careers. There are a few that have driven Late Model Stock cars at SSS. Local drivers Kevin Richards, Newman Lake, Wash and Matt Hall Spokane, Wash have driven many laps on the tight oval. They will be favorites to win the Access Road Solutions 150-lap feature if they can master the tour car on the fast surface. Other drivers that have raced late models at SSS are Brandon Riehl Boring, Ore, plus currently tied for the 2007 ASANWT championship Jay Sauls Puyallup, Wash and BJ Tidrick Yakima, Wash.

A few notable newcomers to SSS are Travis Bennett Ellensburg, Wash and Jeff Barkshire Auburn, Wash.

Included as part of this history setting night are the local ICAR and Early Stock Series.

The schedule for Saturday June 9, 2007: Backgates open at 1:00pm; Tour Practice 2:30-4:00pm; Local Divisions Practice 4:00-5:00pm; Tour Tire Scrubbing 5:00-5:30pm; Qualifying all Divisions 6:00pm; Opening Ceremonies 7:15pm followed by racing at 7:30pm
