LUCAS OIL USAC/CRA STARS DRAG RACE FRIDAY AND GO DIRT TRACKIN’ ON TATTOO NIGHT SATURDAY AT PERRIS AUPERRIS, California -- This weekend will be a big racing weekend for Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car stars “Showtime Danny” Sheridan and “Super Rickie” Gaunt on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds. On Friday, they will be in action on the Street Legal Drag Strip at The PAS. On Tattoo Night on Saturday, they will battle on their familiar stomping grounds, the famous Perris Auto Speedway half-mile clay oval. Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply will present Saturday’s show. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM both nights with racing at 6:00 PM on Friday and 7:00 PM on Saturday.

Saturday’s presentation will be the 4th Annual Tattoo Night at The PAS. What is it and who can qualify you ask? Anyone with a tattoo that is visible to the public can show it at the ticket window and get in for just $5.00. “Multiple tattoos, complete sleeves or body tattoos count as one,” laughed promoter Don Kazarian. “And, it has to be one that can be shown in public. We are not going to send an employee into a private room to check out a tattoo inked on in a private place.”

In addition to “Tattoo Night,” all kid’s 12 and under will be admitted free when an adult accompanies them on Saturday as part of “Kid’s Month at The PAS.”

Saturday’s race will be taped for the Versus Network’s “Lucas Oil Motorsports Hour.” Versus is available to more than 72,000,000 homes nationwide and presents the series, its drivers, tracks and sponsors with national exposure.

Back to the racing, Gaunt, who resides in Torrance, California, and Sheridan, who lives in Santa Maria, California, may be joined on the drag strip by two other top stars from the Lucas Oil Series on Friday night. Norco, California’s Tony Jones, the series point leader, and his closest pursuer, Mike Spencer of Temecula, California, hope to get away from work early enough for the straight line challenge. If Jones and Spencer make it, that would put all of the top four drivers in the CRA series on the drag strip.

Spencer, who was one of the pre-season favorites to win the 2007 Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car championship, scored his second main event win of the season last Saturday night at Santa Maria Speedway. Despite the win, he still trails the effervescent Jones by 121 points. Gaunt, who was fast qualifier for the second week in a row at Santa Maria, took third in the main event and also took over third in the standings from Sheridan.

2007 is shaping up be the most competitive in the tracks 12 seasons of sprint car action. Ventura, California’s Cory Kruseman scored his series leading third win at The PAS two weeks ago. In doing so, he became the ninth different winner in nine races at The PAS in 2007. Others who have won at The PAS this year are Darren Hagen (Riverside, California), Garrett Hansen (Manhattan Beach, California), R.J. Johnson (Phoenix, Arizona), Scotty Weir (Marion, Indiana), “The Bullet” Blake Miller (Yorba Linda, California), Jones, Sheridan and Spencer.

Saturday’s tattoo festooned crowd will be treated to a full night of racing action including qualifying, four 10-lap heat races, a 12 lap B main and a 30 lap A main event that is sure to see drivers and cars tattooing each other on the brightly lit clay oval.
