![]() ANTELOPE, California -- It has been a rough start this season for the #16 NAPA AUTO PARTS/NAPA Filters.com NASCAR Grand National Division West Series team from Bill McAnally Racing. Brian Ickler and the team moved into the top-ten in the chase for the championship with a sixth place finish at Infineon Raceway. The #16 NAPA team came prepared for their first win of the season at Infineon. Ickler was in close pursuit of road course specialists Boris Said, PJ Jones and Nextel Cup driver David Gilliland during the first practice of the weekend. A great qualifying effort had the #16 NAPA Chevrolet starting the 64-lap race in eighth. Ickler, who finished last year’s race at Infineon in second, was quick to gain positions to 6th as the field crossed the line after the first lap. When the second caution came out at lap 15, the NAPA Chevrolet began experiencing a clutch problem. Ickler brought the car onto pit row where the #16 team from BMR went to work to quickly fix the problem. Crew chief Craig Raudman made the call to have Ickler return to pit row a lap later to take on fuel. Restarting in 33rd, Ickler quickly moved thru the field and by lap 30, the #16 was back running in the top-ten. Ickler would return to pit row at lap 33 with the track under a caution to top off with fuel reentering the race in 27th. Fifteen laps later, the #16 would once again be running in the top ten with the leaders in sight. Ickler took the checkered flag recording a sixth place finish in his second visit to the historic road course. The #16 NAPA team made several television appearances prior to the race including a pit stop demonstration for San Francisco‘s KPIX channel 5, the CBS affiliate. BMR teammate Jessica Helberg and team owner Bill McAnally also made appearances on ‘Good Morning Sacramento’ live from Infineon. The team next heads to Roseburg, Oregon for the Bi-Mart Firecracker “150” presented by NAPA AUTO PARTS on Jun 30th at Douglas County Speedway. The event will kick off with the 5th Annual Douglas County Speedway Hauler Parade. Look for the parade heading up Interstate 5 on June 29th en route thru Roseburg. Come meet the BMR drivers along with drivers from the NGND West Series at the Roseburg Bi-Mart from 4 pm until 6 pm.
