ANDREW MYERS READY TO DEFEND TITLE AT HOME TRACK

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California -- Andrew Myers will bring his #44 Toyota of Escondido/NEO Synthetic Oil Monte Carlo to Irwindale Speedway this July 4th looking to repeat his success from last spring’s race.

To date, it’s still the closest margin of victory in the NASCAR Grand National West Series, when Myers passed Eric Holmes to win at Irwindale last spring by inches. He hopes to have a larger margin of victory this summer at the track in which he considers his home track.

“I started racing late models at Irwindale, so I have a lot of history at this track. Adding to that success with another win would be exactly what we need,” said Myers, who has gone winless this season but feels his team is poised for success. “We’re a Southern California team so it would be nice to get our first win of this season in our own backyard.”

Success at Irwindale extends beyond the drivers seat at Myers Racing. Crew Chief Ben Walker has over 15 wins in super late models. “The key to winning there is keeping momentum thru the corners,” said Walker.

The NASCAR Grand National West Series, King Taco 200 will be live from Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway on HDNET/NearLive via the internet at www.racingwest.com, Wednesday, July 4th at 7:00 PM.####
