50-LAP LATE MODEL, STREET STOCK AND BOMBERS AT AAS

The All American Speedway in Roseville will feature 50-lap Late Model, Street Stock and Bomber divisions this weekend (Saturday July 14). The late model cars and drivers have been garnering national attention in the race world. Fans are encouraged to come early to catch the qualifying laps. Racing starts at 6:00 pm.

Winters Makes it Three In A Row! Scott Winters in his Ferrari Farms # 27 Modified made it three wins in a row Saturday night at the All American Speedway.

With the invert, Winters started fifth in the twenty-two car A-Main. Jay Linstroth started from the pole and led the first twenty-six laps. Winters got to the point on lap twenty-seven and there was no looking back. He led the remaining twenty-three to the finish. Linstroth was clearly the second best car and finished there. Andy Field had yet another good run to finish third with Eddie Laws fourth with Rich Lindgren fifth.

Rounding out the top five were:

6th Jason Philpot
7th Scot Alves
8th Jim Miller
9th Les Friend
10th Richard Poppert Jr.

In qualifying, Winters was boss again with a fast time of 14.049/ 85.414mph. Lindgren was second fast at 14.069/ 85.293mph with Andy Field third at 14.108/85.057mph.

Poppert Jr. won the four-car Modified Trophy Dash over Lindgren, Field, and Winters.

In exciting Street Stock action… It was an “All Ahl” day as he completed the sweep of the division by winning the A-Main (his second in a row), fast time and trophy dash.

With the invert, 06 Champ Nitro Norris started from the pole. He led the first lap and then tangled with Luke Caper. Caper took the lead on lap two but for only one circuit when Norris came charging back. Norris led till lap twenty-seven when Jeff Ahl made his move. Ahl got to the front to stay and led the final twenty three to the stripe for the win. Doug Wade had a top five car all night and quietly finished second. Norris came home third with Mickey Owens fourth and Dan Patton fifth,

Completing the top ten:

6th Dan Farrington 7th Chris Lambert 8th Mel Wilson 9th Ryan Steele 10th Phil Wilkens

In qualifying action, Ahl grabbed fast time with a lap of 15.203/ 78.931mph, Wade was second with a 15.235/ 78.765mph, and Mickey Owens was third fast with a 15.313/ 78.364mph.

In the trophy dash, Ahl was your winner over Owens, Wade, and Kaper.

The Street Stocks are back for 50 laps of action at the Speedway this Saturday night, July 14th!

In the visiting Legends of the Pacific division, Frankie Marks started from the pole and never relinquished the lead for all thirty-five laps in the A-Main. Zach Kavert started eighth and charged his way to a second place finish. Johnny Morrissey started seventh and came home third. Derek Copeland crossed fourth with Steve Cantrell fifth.

Rounding out the top ten were:

6th Joel Courage 7th Randy Fellman 8th Phillip Morrissey 9th Kelly Martin 10th Cameron Mallard

In qualifying, Kavert was at the top of the speed charts and brought home the fast time with a lap of 15.610/ 76.873mph. Johnny Morrissey was second at 15.633/ 76.760mph, and Derek Copeland was third with a turn of 15.708/ 76.393mph.

Derrek Copeland won the trophy dash for the Legends over Kavert, Morrissey and Cantrell.

In the B-Main, David Ball held off Jack Humphrey for the win. Ted Clement crossed the stripe third with Jason Anderline fourth and Willy Davis fifth.

Frankie Marks won the first Legend’s Heat Race. Kelly Martin won Heat Race number two. Jack Humphrey won the third.

The Legends of the Pacific return to AAS on August 4th!

In the Mini Stock division, as has been the case all season, Jason Romero brought home the victory in the A-Main. The win is his fourth in a row in a thus far undefeated season in the Mini Stock division.

Romero started fifth with the invert and it didn’t take him long to get to the point. It was just lap three when this one was over for the rest of the field. Terry Shannon came home second with Earl Lee third, Bill Horvath was fourth and Daryl Trueblood crossed fifth.

Rounding out the top ten were:

6th Bud Anderson
7th Jeremy Monks
8th Gary Campora
9th Ronald Davis
10th Steve Avella

Romero snagged fast time in qualifying with a lap of 15.775/ 76.069mph. Shannon was second at 15.921/ 75.371mph and Anderson was third fast at 16.220/ 73.982mph.

Completing the sweep of the division, Romero took home the trophy in the dash as well. In the end it was Romero over Anderson, Monks, and Shannon.

The Mini Stocks battle it out again Saturday night, July 21rst!

This Saturday night, July 14th, it’s the Folsom Ready Mix Late Model 50, and 50 laps with the Street Stocks and Bombers!
