THOUSAND OAKS, California -- Over the years RacingWest has morphed itself multiple times. Being one of a very few websites that was on the Internet from its beginning, one thing RW learned over the years is that in order to maintain a good user base it cannot keep doing the same old things.
After analyzing what was currently available on the web and polling select RW users it was decided RW would best benefit by more closely focusing on basic content. This content includes information and releases from its core group, pre-releases and race results from race tracks in the West and a return to featuring more unique content.
The core group consists of the HotWood SRL Series at both Madera and Shasta, the NASCAR West Series, the NHRA covered by Ringers Gloves, ASA Speed Truck Challenge, the ESI Rocky Mountain Challenge Series, the North State Challenge Series, select Lucas Oil events, the BSR West Late Models, Bill McAnally Racing, Scott Gaylord Racing and Jason Patison Racing.
The core tracks are anything West of the Mississippi, but more specifically the tracks in the NW, SW, western MW and select regions of Texas.
There are some sentimental people that have come to expect certain releases and/or other interactive areas to be part of RacingWest, but the majority of releases are all duplicated on other sites. We are not taking anything away from a user, just removing some of the content that dilutes and makes RW just another site.
RW chooses not to be just another site…the changes will shuffle the RW users, some will find other sites to call home, but fresh friends will be found as a new niche is carved out for RW in the market. The focus on the core group will give a better value to our sponsors and a more enjoyable web experience to the RW user. The hope is that it will restore that feeling of when a user comes to RW they have come to a place as comfy as home.
These changes will position RW to continue to enjoy a distinctive place on the web for some time to come.
