Saturday, Aug 4th Evergreen Speedway at the Evergreen Fairgrounds in Monroe presents the Washington 500 featuring 500 laps of Nascar action in three Nascar sanctioned events. The greatest day into night race will begin with the Central Welding 50 for the Les Schwab Bombers. Jill Lang is currently the point leader and trying to be the first ever female Nascar Champion at Evergreen Speedway. Following the Central Welding 50 will be the Wired X Haggen Foods 150 featuring the Speedway Chevrolet Super Stocks to include the 1986 Dayton 500 winner and the 1991 Washington 500 winner Geoff Bodine, who will be competing against the Northwest’s best late model drivers in the 150 lap event.
John Zaretzke is the point leader who is trying to become the first ever Washington State Champion in the Whelen All-American series.
The Finale comes as racing moves into night with the NAPA 300 Grand National West Series presented by Basalite Concrete Productions. Drivers from all over the west will be battling to win the West Series longest most prestigious race with 14 drivers coming from California.
The Grand National West Series has propelled several Nextel Cup Super Stars, such as Kevin Harvick and David Gilliland. Racing will start at 5:00 p.m. on August 4th with the front gates opening at 1:30 p.m. and qualifying at 2:15 p.m.
