POST FALLS, Idaho -- Garrett Evans added to his 300 plus career late model stock wins on Saturday August 4, 2007 at Stateline Speedway. The 100-lap ‘Duel for the 200’ had Evans taking the lead on lap 12. Evans was never challenged for the remaining laps. Brent Harris who won the Friday INSSA ‘Duel for the 200’ finished second ahead of ARCA West Late Model Challenge Series point leader Gary Lewis.
The race was a point’s race for the AW LMCS and a qualifier for the Idaho 200 on Sunday August 5. The top 6 finishers from Friday and Saturday are locked into the 200.
Evans was complimentary of all those that worked on the car, “We lost our new motor at the Montana 200 and we had to go through many steps to get a motor ready for tonight”. “We now need to pull things apart because we may have broken a cam and we need to find out if we can run on Sunday”.
Gary Lewis stated that he will run on Sunday but was not happy, “He (Wes Rhodes) chopped down on me and the car was junk from that point”.
Lewis maintains his point lead over Jeff Jefferson for the 2007 AW LMCS season championship. Jefferson could not gain on Lewis with a fourth place finish.
Next Up for the ARCA West Q-Racing Late Model Challenge Series will be in Vernon BC at the 1/2-mile Sun Valley Speedway on Saturday August 18, 2007.
