RACE RESULTS NASCAR WEST RACE - EVERGREEN SPEEDAY

MONROE, Washington – Brian Ickler captured his third win in four races in NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series action with a victory in the NAPA 300 at Evergreen Speedway on Saturday.

After encountering a variety of problems that denied him a top-10 finish in the first six races this season, the second-year driver from San Diego has dominated recent action.

He led 163 of 300 laps en route to his latest win on the .646-mile oval in Monroe, Wash. Ickler crossed the line with a margin of victory of 3.979 seconds over two-time series champion Mike Duncan. Mike David, who leads the championship standings, finished third.

“The best part of this NAPA team is the consistency,” Ickler said from victory lane. “We had some bad luck early, but we fought back.”

His win moved him to fourth in the championship standings. With his third-place finish, meanwhile, David was able to slightly extend his lead in the standings to 125 markers. He has 1,718 points over Duncan with 1,593. The defending winner of the race, Johnny Borneman, encountered early problems – but bounced back to finish 10th. He slipped from second to third in the standings with 1,568 points.
