ANTELOPE, California -- This season has been filled with new challenges for NASCAR Grand National Division West Series rookie driver Eric Richardson. The driver from Bill McAnally Racing has had to transition from short tracks like Thunder Hill Raceway, to the one-mile track of Phoenix International to the road course of Infineon Raceway. The #20 team is once again making the transition from a road course in Utah to the oval of Evergreen Speedway and now back to a road course at California Speedway. This will be the first time the West series has seen this track. Previous seasons, the series has raced the fast 2-mile superspeedway.
“It’s going to be interesting,” said Richardson. The #20 Green Frog Roasting Company.com team recently tested at California Speedway. “It’s got some very tight turns especially after the sweeping turns of one and two. The track goes from one extreme to another. I’m looking forward to it.
Richardson piloted the #20 Basalite Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS in the NAPA 300 presented by Basalite at Evergreen Speedway. The rookie finished seventeenth after starting in eleventh. The #20 Basalite Chevrolet was on the move before being collected in an on track incident around lap 220. Richardson was in ninth at the time. He remains tenth in the chase for the championship with two races left of the regular race season.
