ASH SCORES FIFTH SUPER LATE MODEL WIN AT THE BULLRING AT LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Dustin Ash of Las Vegas scored his fifth Super Late Model victory of the season tonight at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Ash, who started fourth, took the lead from Justin Johnson on lap 36 and led the final four laps. Johnson won the $200 Budweiser Super Late Model Dash.

Bear Rzesnowiecky of Las Vegas won the 20-lap Legends Cars feature by finishing just ahead of Jeremiah Wagner. Legends Cars heats were won by Rzesnowiecky, Alex Haase, Karl Forman and Jonathan Mawhinney.

Jared Carpenter scored his first Thunder Roadster victory of the 2007 season. Johan Timmer won the Thunder Roadster heat.

The 100-lap ASA Speed Truck feature was won by Andy Allen of Garden Grove, Calif. Allen started the race from the pole position and led all 100 laps. On lap 95, the trucks of race leader Allen and second-place runner Bear Rzesnowiecky made contact in Turn 3. Although both trucks spun, ASA Speed Truck officials made the decision to reinstate Allen as the leader but send Rzesnowiecky to the rear of the field. Allen went on to win the race, followed by two-time NASCAR Busch Series champion Randy LaJoie of Norwalk, Conn., in second.

NHRA Top Fuel Dragster points leader Rod Fuller and 14-time NHRA Funny Car champion John Force signed autographs for the fans from 6-7 p.m. The speedway also saluted retired local short track heroes from Silver Slipper Speedrome, Craig Road Speedway and the Las Vegas Speedrome on this night. Among those in attendance were: Doc Faustina, Curley price, Dick Cobb, Dick Attisani, “Chummy” Hollowinski, Billy Boren, Bill Curnutte, Russ Siess, Jack Milligan, Fred Kiser Sr., John Montgomery and Bobby Clauson. Paul Williams of Pahrump displayed his restored mid-1960s California-style Supermodified.
