ROSEVILLE, California - Scott Winters, in his #24 Ferrari Farms Modified, won the USG Night at the Races 50 at The All American Speedway last Saturday night, August 18th.

With the invert, Winters started eighth with Jim Miller on the pole. From the drop of the green, Miller led the first forty-seven laps. He was smooth and looked as if could have the car to end Winters consecutive win streak. Winters got to sixth on lap eight and moved into the top five on lap twelve. From there he began picking off drivers one by one. First to go was Richard Poppert Jr. on lap twenty. Jay Linstroth was next on lap twenty-three. Winters finally made a difficult pass on Andy Field for second on lap thirty-one. And the race was on! Winters battled an extremely wide Miller door-to-door. As laps dwindled down, and with time running out, Winters turned in some of his fastest times of the race. Then, in what was possibly one of the best examples of Modified driving of the season, Winters made the pass for the lead on Miller on the outside to bring home the victory.

Miller crossed the stripe second. Andy Field brought home a third place finish. Eddie Laws battled to a fourth place showing with Jimmy McFall fifth.

Rounding out the top ten were:

6th Jim Badeker
7th Richard Poppert Jr
8th Tyler Wentworth
9th Jay Linstroth
10th Rich Lindgren

Earlier in the day in qualifying, Scott Winters topped the speed charts with a fast time of 13.837/ 86.723mph.

2nd Rich Lindgren 13.928/ 86.157mph
3rd Scot Alves 13.937/ 86.101mph
4th Jay Linstroth 13.970/ 85.897mph

In the four lap trophy dash, it was Linstroth over Winters, Alves, and Lindgren.

The Modified division has a week off and then returns to The All American Speedway with Scott Winters going for his eighth win in as many races Saturday night, September 1rst!

In exciting Bomber action:

3rd Earl Lee 15.682/ 76.520mph
4th Andrew Dahl 15.746/ 76.209mph

In one of the best trophy dashes of the year, Earl Lee won the drag race off turn four on the last lap to defeat Dahl and Bulmer by the narrowest of margins. It was the best dash finish this reporter has seen since… the last trophy dash finish two weeks ago. Way to go Mini Stock drivers!

Points Leader Jason Romero started from the pole in the twenty-five lap A Main. Terry Shannon started second, grabbed the lead on the first lap, and held off the field for the next seven. Bulmer started seventh and worked his way up to the point on lap eight with Beardslee right behind him in second. It would finish that way with Dale Bulmer winning his second race of the year and second in-a-row.
