LIME ROCK, Connecticut -- Matt Kobyluck hit some oil and went off course in the final corner of the final lap of the NASCAR Busch East 200 at Lime Rock Park today. He won anyway and used the opportunity to make the race for the series championship a bit closer.

Kobyluck trails championship leader Joey Logano by 92 points in the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series standings. Logano finished 23rd at Lime Rock.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the Grand National Division, which includes the West Series. The bias-ply tires Goodyear builds for the NGND are also supplied for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The tires are grouped by racetrack application and all three series use every tire grouping.

Kobyluck and Mike Olsen raced one another into the final corner of Lime Rock’s 1.53-mile road racing facility and their cars slipped in the same splot of oil. Both cars went off course, but Kobyluck was able to get back to the finish line in front of the field to take the win.

Sean Caisse finished second, about a quarter of a second behind the winner. Jeff Anton, Jesus Hernandez and Jeffrey Earnhardt were the next three across the line. The starting field included 29 cars.

Kobyluck averaged 62.007 mph for the race. He also won the Bud Pole Award with a lap averaging 102-263 mph.
