The fabled Bay Cities Racing Association DMS Race Products Midget series will be charging back to the 1/4-mile Ukiah Speedway, continuing the pavement portion of the DMS Race Products BCRA Midget schedule this Saturday, September 8.
Leading entries include 16-year-old BCRA points leader Justin Grant of Ione piloting his #30 Beast/Esslinger, reigning two-time BCRA champion John Sarale of Stockton wheeling the Sarale Farms #32 Beast/Riolo Chevy, 7-time BCRA champion “Ageless Wonder” Floyd Alvis in his #18 Champion Automotive Stealth/Van Dyne, third-place Ralphie “The Racer” Cortez manning the wheel of the #31 Shores/Cortez Special Beast/Sesco-Mopar, 19-year-old BCRA rookie Kevin Morris chauffeuring father Del's #17k Beast/Esslinger and a host of other top Midget chauffeurs will be battling one another on Saturday.
Morris will be looking to capture his second BCRA feature victory. Morris won a pavement race in June at Ukiah's sister track in Lakeport. Grant, the series championship leader won a pavement race earlier this year, as well as breaking the Midget track record at Ukiah in June. Grant's record stands at 12:180.
Others slated to be competing on Saturday include 2002 third-place driver and car owner champion, Bill Lindsey of San Carlos chauffeuring Stu Donaldson's #87x Stealth/Pontiac, Mike Donaldson in the #87 Stu Donaldson Stealth/Gaerte, Rick Faeth aboard his #3 Stealth/Chevy V4 and Jim Fowler piloting his own #61 Beast/Esslinger.
Modifieds, Bud Bombers, Bonus Bombers and Bandoleros will join the BCRA Midgets on Saturday. Grandstands open at 4:30 p.m. with racing beginning at 6:30 p.m.
