EVANS & LEWIS VIE FOR LATE MODEL CHALLENGE SERIES RECORD AT WENATCHEE VALLEY SUPER OVAL

GRAHAM, Washington – The final race of the 2007 season scheduled for this Saturday, September 15, the ARCA West Q-Racing Late Model Challenge Series’ record of four wins in a single season is in jeopardy of falling. The ‘Wenatchee 200’ at Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval in E. Wenatchee, Washington will be a challenge for two of the regions great stock car drivers..

The Northwest’s fastest .250-mile high-banked racing oval, could be the place that Garrett Evans (E. Wenatchee, WA) or Gary Lewis (Snohomish, WA) set the record for the eight year old traveling AW LMCS.

The AW LMCS has made two previous stops at WVSO during the 2007 season. Lewis won the first race in May and Evans the second in June.

Lewis will win the 2007 series championship by just making the start of the 200-lap $20,000.00 main event. A year ago at WVSO, Lewis won his second NASCAR Elite Division championship.

Evans’ plans to use the home track advantage to gain the ‘five-win’ record. Considered the best of all-time stock car driver at WVSO, Evans has more laps on the super-fast oval than any other of the 25+ entrants for the ‘Wenatchee 200’.

Whoever is the winner of the ‘Wenatchee 200’ will receive a record $3,000.00 check courtesy of International Parking Management Inc. of Seattle, Washington.

To keep with the theme of firsts the AW LMCS’s season finale of 200-laps is a first. The eight year old series has never attempted a race of this distance.

Along with the drama of the win record being set, there are some close points battles within the top ten in series points. The Port City Racecars ‘Rookie Challenger’ has two drivers locked into a tight race for the prestigious award. Erick Hargraves (Yakima, WA) and Jim Warn (Aurora, OR) have just 8-points separating them from the title of Rookie of the Year.

The largest ever AW LMCS purse ($20K+), winners check ($3K+), potential 5-win record and longest race (200-laps) has gained much attention to the season ending event. Many of the Northwest’s stock car drivers and fans will congregate at Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval on Saturday night September 15. Hot laps begin at 2pm with qualifying at 6pm. Racing gets underway at 7pm. The front gates open at 5pm. Additional classes racing are the local WVSO Youth Hornets and Pepsi Cola Mini Super Stocks
