John Zaretzke made it to his third Track Championship and first ever NASCAR Washington State Championship Saturday night. Finishing fourth was good enough to best the two-time Defending Champion Shane Harding who started the day just 28 points behind. Lex Johnson won his third race of the season in the 150 lap main event with Harding second and Naima Lang third. Rookie of the Year Mike Holden had an excellent fifth place finish.
Super Figure Eights put on a great show to start the evening. Sean Peters came into he race with an 11-point lead over John "The Cowboy" Carlson. By the time heat races had ended Peters lead was down to just five points. Main event time rolled around and "The Cowboy" started from all the way in the back, but just a row back from Peters. A race incident sent the field into a red flag condition. As the field went back to yellow flag conditions Peters was unable to start his car. A quick trip to the pit line was needed for him to start his car but by then he had lost a lap and "The Cowboy" was headed to the lead. The main event win and a Championship awaited the patient driver from the Super Figure Eights.
