SWEATMAN CROWNED 2007 SUPER STOCK CHAMPION AT SOUTH SOUND SPEEDWAY

ROCHESTER, Washington -- If you were not at South Sound Speedway for Saturday nights, September 15, 2007 Super Stock Championship racing action, then you missed some of the best racing of the season.

Cosmopolis, Washington’s #11 Tom Sweatman set fast time with a 13.545. Winning their Trophy Dash was the #54 Mike Obrist. The 100-Lap Super Stock Championship nights Main Event was lined up by the Season’s points standing. This put Sweatman, first in points, and the #9 Kelly Mann, second in points, on the front row.

Sweatman brought the field around for the green flag, but Mann led the first lap. Then Sweatman took the lead right back. The Super Stock Main Event was filled with 11 cautions, with the last caution on lap 90. On the restart, Sweatman was still in the lead with Mann glued to his back bumper. Coming out of turn two, on the white flag lap, Mann made a move on Sweatman for the lead. The two Drivers battled going into turns three and four, almost taking each other out, but it was Monroe, Washington’s Mann beating Sweatman to the checkered flag by inches, winning his third race of the season. Rounding out their top five were third place Jared Vorse, Tom Moriarity, and Rod Schultz, JR.

The #11 Tom Sweatman may have finished second in the race, but Tom and his crew were all smiles and stood proud after the race, as they were crowned the 2007 South Sound Speedway Super Stock Championship team.

The Lacey Auto Wrecking Bumblebees Championship night saw the #19 Mike Emerson winning their Trophy Dash. The top three in Heat 1 were winner Eric Franson, Kevin Thornton, and Kyle Matthews. The top three in Heat 2 were winner Devin Matthews, John Davis, and Emerson.

Chehalis, Washington’s #80 Davis would come out the winner of the 20-Lap Bumblebee Main Event. Rounding out their top five were runner up Roy Talbott, Devin Matthews, Eric Franson, and Ron Anctil.

With a fifth place finish, Olympia, Washington’s #57 Anctil, is your 2007 South Sound Speedway Lacey Auto Wrecking Bumblebees Champion.

The Hinkle Homes Pure Stocks saw Olympia, Washington’s #10 Jacob Haider set fast time with a 16.655. The winner of their Trophy Dash was Shannon Chase. The top three in their Heat were winner Brian Wilson, Scott Johnson, Rick Casebolt.

The #22 Kenny Ericson brought the field around for the green flag, led the first lap. Leading laps 2-20 was the #28 Ron Mason. On lap 25, Olympia, Washington’s Haider would take over the lead and go on to win the Pure Stock 25-Lap Main Event. Rounding out their top five were runner up Casebolt, Wilson, Leon Collins, and Ericson.

The Washington Midget Racing Association saw Edmond, Washington’s #12 Brad Curtis set fast time with a 13.016 and winning their Trophy Dash. The top three in their A-Heat were winner Kenny Burns, Brea Lopez, and Tyler Tanner. The top three in their B-Heat were winner Kenny Ferris, Evan Margeson, and Doug Kammerzell.

Winning their 35-Lap, Main Event was DuPont, Washington’s #28 Ferris. Rounding out their top five were runner up Curtis, Rob Lindsey, Tanner, and Burns.

The 2007 Washington Midget Racing Association Champion is Tacoma, Washington’s #50 Evan Margeson.####
