Scott Lynch and Windward Racing are proud to welcome Sinclair’s Oil’s “Artic Fire” branded motor oils for their third ever outing. Sinclair’s “Artic Fire” joins Jasper Engines and Transmissions and Intertech as sponsors of the #29 Dodge for the Las Vegas event.
Las Vegas Motor Speedway is considered the “home track” for Lynch, as well as many of his hired guns this weekend. Lynch lived in Las Vegas during the time he drove for Orleans Racing. It was during his tenure with the Michael Gaughan owned race team that Lynch scored his NASCAR West championship, in 2003.
Lynch has visited victory lane here while driving in the NASCAR West Series.
Windward Racing is seeking sponsorship partners for the remainder of 2007 and for a full season effort in 2008.

Lynch on Las Vegas:
“Vegas is just an awesome place to race. It’s Vegas, so the city speaks for itself. Since the track was repaved and they added the progressive banking there’s a lot more side-by-side racing. Unfortunately the track that I’ve won on is now completely different. But I get a chance to come back to a place where I lived for 3 ½ years and I’m really excited. We’ve got Sinclair Oil coming on board and Jasper is on board with us. So I think we should put on a pretty good show.
“We’ll have mom and dad and grandpa and cousins and uncles all coming up from Scottsdale, AZ and friends from Boise, ID are coming down. I think we have 30 or 40 people coming. It’ll be interesting and fun. It will be nice to have the family and friend support there because I race all over the United States but this is one opportunity where we’ll be close enough to home that many, many people come and enjoy it.
“The team is coming together pretty good. We’re still just a small race team trying to make it against the bigger teams and we’re doing our best. LJ Pryor and ??? are doing a magnificent job for us. We’ll just keep plugging away and hopefully we’ll keep landing these sponsors here and keep growing as fast as possible. Hopefully we’ll be able to complete full-time in the near future.
“Anytime you work with a team that’s brand new it takes time to attract sponsor opportunities and understand how involved they want the driver to be. Sometimes they want you to be more involved in working around the shop or interacting with potential sponsors and sometimes they want you to just sit back and focus on driving. It really depends. Each individual team is different. This team has a lot of potential. We just need to capitalize on it the best we can and have a good showing this weekend.”
General Manager, Larry Pryor.
“We’re pretty optimistic about our chances at Las Vegas. Scott has some experience in this race and Las Vegas Motor Speedway is Scott’s home track. He lived in Las Vegas for a number of years and has competed in races there. And some of our team members have ties to the Las Vegas area and have been involved with the track. So we’re looking forward to it.
“Scott will have a lot of friends and family there and I think that just raises his comfort level. He knows the Las Vegas area and knows the track pretty well. So I think that will help a lot.
“Our next race is going to be Martinsville. Then we’ll go to Texas and Phoenix and finish up the year at Homestead. We’re starting to build a truck for Daytona and then we’ll move on to next year.
“One thing we’re talking about right now is building the team up and getting prepared for the 2008 season. We had some meetings last weekend in Loudon, NH with the principles of the team and we had some talks with NASCAR. So we’re headed in the direction of running full-time next year.
“We’re working on some different sponsor options. Maybe what we have on board will bring up some new partners to be able to do that. The races this year are really to prepare us and give us a good chance at the points chase next year.”
