POP PORTER MEMORIAL BCRA & COX & COX CONSTRUCTION LEGEND NATIONALS

The action will be hot and heavy at Shasta Raceway Park located at the fairgrounds in Anderson this weekend, with racing action on both Friday and Saturday Nights. It all kicks off Friday Night with the final points race for the Legend of The Pacific Series and our local Legends points, their will be four champions crowned on Friday. Also on the card will be the Bombers, Hornets and a special race for Vintage Sprint Cars and Midgets in conjunction with there BBQ on Saturday afternoon for the Northern California Auto Racing Alumni. The NCARA is a newly formed organization dedicated to preserve the history of Auto Racing in Northern California. There will be vintage cars on hand as well as lots of old photo's, video's and memorabilia and bench racing, There are still tickets available for the BBQ that starts at 12:00 noon, cost for the BBQ and Saturday Night race ticket is $20.00 or you can buy a BBQ ticket only for $10.00. If Friday's action is not enough, Saturday's will be as the BCRA Midgets along with WMRA Midgets from Washington hit Anderson for the 4th Annual Pop Porter Memorial. All the top open wheel Midget drivers on the West Coast will be here for this huge event. As an added bonus the 3rd Annual Cox & Cox Construction Westcoast Legend National qualifier hits the fast 3/8's paved oval with drivers California, Oregon, Nevada, Washington, Montana, Idaho, and North Carolina. Leading the contingent of local drivers will be Micah Parmer from Anderson as he goes for his third consecutive win in this event, Parmer's stiffest challenge could come from two local drivers, Redding's Zack Kavert who is currently leading the Legends of the Pacific Pro Division and the overall point standings. Close behind Kavert is another local boy Derek Copeland from Anderson, Copeland is leading the Semi-Pro Division and second in the overall points to Kavert. The Carey Brothers, Nick and Rowan from Snohomish, Washington should also factor into the mix, as at last years event Rowan set fast time. Other drivers expected to challenge include Orangevale's Frankie Marks, former Legend of the Pacific Champion Steve Fensler Jr from Sacramento and one of two female drivers entered MacKenna Bell from Reno, Nevada.

Also on the card for the first time ever at Shasta Raceway Park, will be the Thunder Roasters, a replica of the Indy style front engine roasters from the 50's and 60's. These cars are powered by the same engine that the Legend cars use, we are expecting upwards of 16 cars for Saturday night's show.

Both nights action start with the gates at 5:00 pm, time trials at 6:00 pm and the racing action at 7:00 pm.####
