The win by Bobby Dotter at Salt Lake City gives him three victories in the past six races. His three wins are the most by a driver so far this season.

The runner-up finish by Bill Sedgwick marked his second consecutive second-place finish. The two-time series champion has two other top-five finishes so far this season.

Brendan Gaughan's sixth-place fnish marked only the second time this season he finished out of the top five. While it ended his string of top-five finishes at five, it extended his run of top-10 fnishes to 15. That streak extends back to August of last year.

The Bud Pole Award won by Gaughan at Salt Lake City was his second in a row and third overall this season, the most by any driver so far. He has won the Bud Pole Award five times in his career.

Several drivers gained positions in the top 10 of the championship standings as a result of their finish at Salt Lake City. Dotter's victory propelled him from fourth to second. Sedgwick moved from sixth to fourth and Scott Gaylord jumped a spot from eighth to seventh.
