KIEFER POWERS TO FIRST IMCA MODIFIED WIN OF THE YEAR AT DEATH VALLEY RACEWAY

AMARGOSA VALLEY, Nevada -- Veteran competitor Levi Kiefer of Pahrump escaped a charging Ronnie Williams Saturday to capture his first IMCA Modified feature race of the year and highlight race action here at Death Valley Raceway. Kiefer’s shot his entry to the victory in a 20-lap victory in a vehicle that erupted into flames about two laps from the conclusion over a 1/3-mile clay track situated between Death Valley and Lathrop Wells about 100 miles north of Las Vegas.

Leland Hibdon of Pahrump, Dan Fitzgerald of Las Vegas and Rick Durica of Las Vegas rounded out the top five.

Erin Sharon captured the 15-lap Micro Sprint main event over Errol Sharon and Terry Nichols, while Bob Clark bettered Josh Stringer in the 20-lap 360 Sprint feature and Justin Berger bettered Donny Berger in the 20-lap Classic Coupe main.

Mark Nustad collected his second Mod Mini main event victory in a 20-lap feature, while Justin Berger captured the 20-lap Classic Coupe feature.

Chad Broadhead captured the 20-lap Mini Stock feature over Michael Lysinger and Michael Brown, while Dan Snowden beat Daniel Katzer and Dale Daffern in the 20-lap Super Stock feature.

DVR returns with its third event of the year Saturday, March 8 with IMCA Modifieds, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Classic Coupes, 360 Sprints, Micro Sprints and Dwarf Cars.
