There will be several Easter Egg hunts going on Saturday night March 22nd at Canyon Speedway Park and not only for the kids but a lucky main event winner who will be hunting for a $100 bonus.
There will be two age groups for the kids egg hunt with children 6 and under hunting in one area and the 7 to 12 age group will have their own hunt in another area. The Easter Bunny promises plenty of eggs for the hunt courtesy of Dirt Track Depot and DTD Racing Wheels.
The main focus of the night will of course be the racing with the return of the Barnett Modifieds in a tune up for next weekend’s Barnett Touring series races. The modifieds had an awesome opening night show three weeks ago with Jay Foster taking the lead from Tony Steele with just 2 laps to go in the main event after Steele broke a front wheel. Anthony Madrid looks to get in the winners circle as he was also a main event leader until engine woes sidelined him in the opener. On the card with the Barnett Modifieds will be the Sport Mods led by point leader and main event winner Robin Boomgarden. The Sport Mods have the same body style as the Dirt Modifieds but have much less horsepower and some suspension rules that make them an economical type open wheel racecar. Bombers and the AODC Dwarf Cars will round out the action this Saturday night.
All main event winners will have an Easter egg “hunt” of there own as they will choose from 10 eggs in an Easter basket with one egg being worth an extra $100 courtesy of Allscapes Landscaping.
Action at Canyon Speedway Park gets underway at 7:30 pm with gates opening at 5pm. Admission is just $12 with seniors and Military $10, kids 12 and under always free. Canyon is located just south of the Carefree highway off 99th Ave in Peoria. Visit www.canyonspeedwaypark.com on the web or call 602.258.RACE (7223) for more information.![]()
