This Friday and Saturday night March 28th & 29th Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria Arizona will host the opening round of the Barnett Harley-Davidson Touring Series. For 2008 the Touring Series will determine the overall Barnett Harley-Davidson Series Champion. The 10 race series unites 6 tracks in 3 states and showcases the best drivers in the southwest at each event. 2007 Tour Series champion Bumper Jones is eager to defend his title in his new Shaw by Taylor car. 2007 Barnett Series champion R.C. Whitwell in a new Hughes car will be one of the contenders for the Tour title as he plans to run the entire series. Each champion has won special events already in 2008 and is a favorite in the Tour Series. Canyon Speedway regular Jason Noll is riding a hot streak with 3 wins in 4 races at Canyon this year in the BTS sponsored Hoffman car. Anthony Madrid with Multiple wins in 2008 will have his Flexi-Flyer Hatfield car ready for the tour competitors. Former Tour champion Scott Logston won the Canyon Winter Challenge series this year and will return for the Tour Series in his JR Motorsports Dirt Works. Former Barnett Series champion Christy Georges of El Paso Texas will also make the long tow for the Tour event with her Shaw by Taylor. Each year the Tour events are some of the best modified racing you will see anywhere.

Canyon Speedway Park 2008 competitors will also be running with the incentive of double track points for all divisions including modifieds going toward the 2008 track championship.

Friday night the Modifieds will be joined by the Super Stocks, Sport Modifieds and AMMA Winged Modified Midgets while on Saturday night the Pure Stocks, Sport Modifieds and AMMA Winged Modified Midgets make up the support classes.

Action at Canyon Speedway Park gets underway at 7:30 pm both nights with gates opening at 5pm. Admission each night for this special event is $15 for adults, Senior & Military $13 with Children 12 & Under FREE. Canyon Speedway Park has free overnight camping (no hookups) for those that would like to stay out at the track. Canyon is located just south of the Carefree highway off 99th Ave in Peoria.
