ROCKLIN, California -- The Minicup and the Baby Grand Divisions will make their season opener at the Toyota/NAPA AutoCare Center 150 event March 29th at All-American Speedway in Roseville.
The event features the NASCAR Camping World Series, SRL Southwest Tour Series, All-American Speedway's Modified Division and the WSRA Minicups and Baby Grands. 28 year-old Sacramento based company, J&F Pool Plastering, sponsors the WSRA Minicups and Baby Grands. Both feature events will be named the "J&F Pool Plastering Challenge" which will be 20 lap races.
Minicups are ½-scale NASCAR replica cars with full suspension; roll cage, and Honda motors driven by youth 8 to 15 years old. They provide a strong learning environment for developing the skills and fundamentals needed for young drivers to advance to the pro divisions.
Baby Grand Stock Cars are 2/3-scale with no rev limiter. These cars provide racers with real horsepower underfoot. As in Legends cars, 4-cylinder Yamaha motorcycle engines power these stock cars.
They have 5 speed gearboxes and quick-change rear-ends— just like a Late Model stockcar. With a 10:1 horsepower to weight ratio, these cars are extremely fast and truly teach racers how to handle power and speed. With prior racing experience, racers as young as 14 years old can compete at this level. Success here is a true indicator of talent that prepares drivers for the step to professional racing.
