TOYOTA SPEEDWAY AT IRWINDALE HOSTS RECESSION BUSTER NIGHT THIS SATURDAY FEATURING TWO FOR ONE ADULT TICKETS AND FIVE RACESIRWINDALE SPEEDWAY

Five races are scheduled including the ACDelco Super Late Model Series, West Coast Pro Trucks, ASA Speed Truck Challenge Series, Legends Cars and the D&D Construction Bandoleros.
Charles Price, a 21 year old resident of Redlands will be the driver to beat having clinched an impressive victory in the Super Late Model season opener on March 22. Price took the lead from Kevin Thompson of Yorba Linda on lap 34 and went on to win the 50 lap feature race in front of a sellout crowd at TOYOTA Speedway.
The West Coast Pro Trucks Series returns to the Speedway for the second consecutive week. Ricky James of Murrieta won last Saturday’s race and is a 19 year old paraplegic (paralyzed from the chest down) who drives his race truck with hand controls. James posted an impressive 4.318 second margin of victory over second place Ronnie Davis, Jr. of Whittier.
The ASA Speed Truck Challenge, a regional touring series for mid-sized racing trucks makes its season debut on the one-half mile oval. The series features a wide diversity of driving talent ranging in age from 14 to 50 plus years old. Second year driver Jason Black won the March 8 season opener at Lake Havasu 95 Speedway. On March 22, 15 year old Texas native Chris Buescher climbed inside of a speed truck for the first time ever, set the fast time in qualifying, won the trophy dash and took the 100 lap feature race at Tucson Raceway Park.
The one-third mile oval will feature two races including the Legends Cars and the D&D Construction Bandoleros. After one race, familiar names are already near the top of the Legends Cars standings including 2006 division champion Tom Landreth of Alta Loma, currently in second place and defending division champion Darren Amidon of Santee who is in third place.
The Bandoleros, featuring the young racing guns of tomorrow, will make their season debut on Saturday.
Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with qualifying sessions. The King Taco fan appreciation autograph session is scheduled on the track with drivers, crew members and their race cars at 5:45 p.m. Green flag racing action will begin at 7 p.m.

TOYOTA Speedway’s drag strip which features Test and Tune Street Legal racing action every Thursday night from 5-10 p.m. hosts its first NHRA Summit Street Legal Series event of the season this Sunday (April 6). Gates open at 8 a.m.; drivers meeting and qualifying are scheduled at 10 a.m. with elimination rounds beginning at 1 p.m.
