FLASHCO SRL SOUTHWEST TOUR DRIVERS BRING IMPRESSIVE RESUMES TO TOYOTA SPEEDWAY AT IRWINDALE

WILTON, California – This Saturday night (April 26th), the FLASHCO SRL Southwest Tour Series will make its first ever appearance at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale in the “Andersen Windows and Doors 100”. To pick a favorite for the 100 lap event you would first need to check the impressive resumes of the top drivers of the FLASHCO SRL Southwest Tour entering Saturday nights race. Topping the list of favorites may be Mission Hill’s Rip Michels, the 2005 NASCAR Southwest Series champion, plus three Toyota Speedway championship titles. Or, the top pick for victory Saturday night may be the defending FLASHCO SRL Southwest Tour Series champion Dave Byrd of Seaside,CA who has more than 12 career championships to his credit. Consecutive NASCAR Southwest Series championships (2004 & 2005) bring a lot of weight to the resume of Prunedale’s Jim Pettit II, as does the 2001 NASCAR Southwest Series championship for Cottonwood’s Craig Raudman. Dan Holtz has two Mesa Marin Raceway Super Late Model championships and Eddie Secord of Oakhills brings multiple Pro 4 Series titles. Last seasons SRL Rookie-of-the-Year, Bryan Herzog of Clovis, CA has two division track championships. Winner of the SRL season opener at Roseville, Fremont’s Troy Ermish brings numerous road racing victories with him. “We are really proud to have our series represented by such a fine group of drivers,” stated the SRL’s executive director, Steve Fensler. “Our guys are really the who’s who of west coast short track racing, just check the record books.” Fensler added Saturday night’s event at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale will be the second event of the 2008 FLASHCO SRL Southwest Tour Series. The SRL will headline a full night of racing which will also feature the Auto Club Late Models, the King Taco Super Trucks, the Justice Brothers Mini Stocks and the Pure Stocks. An additional feature on Saturday night will be the Stock Building Supply - Home Improvement Show. Gates Open at 4pm, with racing at 7pm. Also, SRL sponsor Five Star Race Car Bodies will be hosting a dinner for the SRL drivers and their crews on Friday night from 6-7pm.
